Police can confirm that two men have been arrested following an assault on a man in Workington – as investigating officers appeal for witnesses.
Officers were contacted at 12.28am today (29 July) that a man, in his thirties, had sustained suspected stab wounds in Peter Street.
He remains in hospital with serious injuries.
Two men, aged 40 and 44 respectively, were arrested on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm.
Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area of Peter Street in the early hours of this morning.
