Police are investigating an incident that occurred yesterday (6 November) at around 5:45pm outside Aldi, on Dalston Road, Carlisle.
Police were called to a report of a concern for welfare of a small child.
A man in his 30s has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody while the investigation is on-going.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident and any vehicles which were in the car park at that time which may be able to provide dash cam footage.
