Residents asked to keep windows closed as emergency services respond to fire in Barrow

Emergency services are in attendance at a fire in Barrow this evening (27 July).

The fire was reported shortly before 6.50pm at a number of domestic garages at Salthouse Mills Industrial Estate.  

A number of fire appliances are in attendance and are expected to remain at the scene for some time.

There are no reported casualties.

Members of the public are asked to avoid the area and not attend the scene. Residents living nearby are also advised to keep their windows closed as a precaution.
